Álvaro Pérez-Plá
Meet Our Associate
Álvaro is an Associate at GSI, where he analyzes, structures, and supports investments in social enterprises across Sub-Saharan Africa, and leads the impact and sustainability strategy of the fund GSIF Africa. He has over 15 years of experience in social entrepreneurship, impact investing, and inclusive economic development in the region, having founded and led organizations working directly on the ground. He has held leadership roles in foundations, companies, and international platforms, and serves on governance bodies such as the Chair of Social Impact at ICADE. He is also a lecturer at IE University and co-founder of both Acumen Academy Spain and an impact-focused business angels club. His background combines finance, entrepreneurship, and systems thinking.
